Bookkeeper / Management Accountant

Position Status: Permanent, full-time

Start Date: as soon as possible

Pay: competitive / negotiable plus OTE

Location: West midlands

Role: The role of  Bookkeeper / Management accountant will encompass Sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, petty cash, expenses, banking, bank reconciliations and VAT returns. You must be fully competent in sage be able to prepare VAT returns, including all on line reporting to HMRC including auto-enrolment. 

You will also deal with accruals and prepayments, journals and nominal ledger as well as prepare accounts to trial balance stage and prepare monthly management accounts. 

Accounts Payable – ensuring all invoices are loaded into sage on a daily basis

Preparation of weekly pay runs based on invoices due.

Accounts Receivable – ensuring all sales invoices are loaded into sage, matching cash received to invoices raised and chasing customers for payment.

Sage Accounts Administration

Assisting with the Infrastructure planning and implementation

Processing invoices and payments

Daily bank, Weekly Petty cash and monthly reconciliations in Sage

Maintaining and reconciling financial records

Processing all accounting transactions onto Sage software

Cash control and management on a weekly basis

Completing quarterly VAT returns

Overseeing and producing reports

Organising the final/yearly accounts and VAT/end of year returns

Preparing for yearly audits

Budget and Cash Flow Monitoring / Forecasting

Expense Claims Monitoring

Credit Control

Liaising with clients & customers

Requirements:

Excellent bookkeeping skills with a minimum 4 years experience.

Strong Organisational Skills

Excellent Communication Skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet required deadlines

Ability to be flexible and manage multiple priorities

A business orientated mind-set

Good knowledge of the Accounts Payable/Receivable processes

Strong numeracy skills

Accuracy and attention to detail

Skills:

Knowledge of either Logistics, courier, transport and distribution would be beneficial

Full understanding and experience of Sage Line 50 and Excel is essential.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and PowerPoint is required
